About

Christine B. Miller (nee Postenrieder) was born in 1935 in Muensterhausen, a village about 40 km. southeast of Augsburg, Bavaria. The people in the region made their living as small landowners with five to seven cows serving as draft animals being the norm. Chris remembers that "as soon as my eyes and ears opened, I was interested in history and politics, listening quietly but intently when conversation of adults turned to those topics." She therefore experienced the Nazi reign and period of occupation with heightened awareness. At age 21 she immigrated to the United States, working first as a maid, then attending college, teaching, marrying and raising three children. She and her husband reside in central Wisconsin.
